Sweeper is a kind of belt conveyor belt adhesion and block larger material cleaning device, the main role is to reduce the excessive wear of the conveyor belt, reduce energy consumption, specifically.
1 To keep the conveyor belt clean, to ensure that the conveyor belt has enough friction on the drive roller, to prevent the belt from slipping and running off (incomplete cleaning will lead to materials directly between the roller and the belt, causing friction between the three, resulting in wear and tear, reducing transport efficiency).
2 Effectively reduce the stickiness, and larger materials to the belt and roller wear, effectively extending its life.
3 to ensure smooth running of the conveyor belt, not jumping up and down and tearing the belt.
4 With the reduction of sticky material, it can play an effective protection to the bearing rollers, brackets, transmission rollers, redirecting rollers, etc. to ensure normal operation and reduce the maintenance rate of equipment.
Cleaner selection should be based on the site working conditions, targeted selection, can not blindly install and working conditions do not match the sweeper.
Common belt machine cleaner according to structure: scraper type, rotary type, water jet type, brush type, etc.; according to the use of materials: polyester ammonia cleaner, nickel titanium aluminum alloy, alloy rubber cleaner, etc.; according to the working principle of mechanical and electric type.
Sweeper can be roughly divided into 3 parts: head sweeper, middle sweeper and tail sweeper, their corresponding installation position is different, and they also have different division of labor and role.
Head cleaner
Head sweeper is used to clean the belt on top of the belt unloading roller return belt, this sweeper is matched with the belt machine, equipped with heavy hammer tensioning and spring tensioning. For normal belt, the cleaning medium is rubber strip, for strong belt, alloy or polyurethane is used.
Central sweeper
The middle cleaner is used to clean the non-working surface of the belt, so that the material stuck on the lower belt surface can be transferred to the lower rollers and redirecting rollers as little as possible. It is installed within 5 meters behind the unloading point with the middle of the belt or 2/3 of the belt machine body (from the head). Normal belt cleaning medium is rubber strip, strong belt uses rubber strip or polyurethane.
Tail empty section sweeper
Tail empty section cleaner is responsible for cleaning the non-working surface in front of the tail of the belt machine, installed within 5 meters in front of the buffer roller frame at the end of the machine, using rubber strips for ordinary belt machine and rubber strips or polyurethane for powerful belt machine.
After installed and used for a period of time, due to the frequent friction between the knife head and the belt surface, the knife head will be worn to different degrees. After the wear, there will be a gap between the cutter head and the belt, and when the fit of the two is not enough, it will easily lead to poor belt cleaning effect.
We should check the sweeper frequently and adjust or replace the knife head in time to ensure its cleaning effect and prevent the belt from returning with material after the knife head is found to be worn seriously.
The blockage of material at the sweeper will cause the deformation of the sweeper, which will also cause the change of the installation angle between the sweeper and the belt, resulting in poor cleaning effect.
The installation angle between sweeper and belt should be measured frequently, and if the angle changes, it should be adjusted in time.
The belt is subject to longitudinal tension in the process of operation, with the increase of belt running time will be aging, its surface will produce small cracks, such cracks in the belt redirection will become fissures, materials (especially fine powdery materials) will enter it, scraper and cleaner is unable to solve, the only way to solve the external force.
The longer the conveying belt is, the more unstable the material is, and the easier it is to cause the material to be brought back. Need to control the stability of the material, replace the damaged rollers in time, clean up the crust on the rollers. This can reduce the shaking of the belt and ensure the contact between the cleaner and the belt.
