Vibrating screen is a kind of commonly used equipment in the mining industry, which is used for grading, deblending, screening and filtering of materials. But in actual use, there are often customers who respond that the screening capacity of the vibrating screen cannot reach the ideal effect. So for the problem of screening efficiency of vibrating screen, how should we solve it?
Before solving the problem, let’s understand some basic knowledge about vibrating screen.
Vibrating screen is mainly composed of vibrating motor, screen box, vibration damping system and support device.
The vibrating motor provides the vibration source, and adjusting the size of the excitation force of the vibrating motor can change the vibration amplitude of the screen machine.
The material falls into the screen box from the inlet end, quickly advances, loosens and penetrates the screen, completing the screening operation.
Vibration damping system is used to cushion the friction of the parts and prolong the life of the machine.
There are two kinds of support devices, hanging type and seat type, which are used to adjust the angle of the screen box.
According to the operation mode of vibrating screen, it can be divided into heavy duty screen, self-centered vibrating screen, elliptical vibrating screen, dewatering screen, banana screen, linear vibrating screen, etc.
There are many factors that affect the screening efficiency of vibrating screen, and we analyze them one by one below.
The larger the vibration amplitude is, the less the screen holes are blocked, and the easier the material penetrates the screen. The vibration frequency affects the beating state of the material on the screen surface, too high and too low, both will cause low screening efficiency. So it is necessary to choose the suitable amplitude and vibration frequency according to the material.
For example, to grade the material, choose low frequency and large amplitude; to take off the medium, choose high frequency and small amplitude; if it happens to be wet and small granular material, it should be low frequency and large amplitude.
The adjustment of amplitude and vibration frequency depends on the choice of vibration motor. When choosing the vibration motor, we should pay attention to its working frequency, maximum excitation force, power and other parameters and whether the material needs to match the vibration force.
The angle between the screen surface and the horizontal surface is called the tilt angle of the screen surface, the larger the tilt angle, the greater the speed of the material running on the screen surface, the shorter the stay time, the lower the efficiency of screening. However, the angle is too small, the slower the material is processed and the capacity will be reduced. In order to maintain an ideal state, the angle should be controlled from 5 to 25 degrees.
The width of the screen surface affects the processing capacity of the screen, and the length affects the efficiency of screening. The screen surface is too narrow, to cause the material to be too thick and not easy to pass through the screen holes. The screen surface is too short, the material stays on the screen surface for too short a time, and the material has less chance to pass through the screen holes. But too wide and too long is also undesirable, screening efficiency is not much improved, but the sieve structure is bulky and waste of space.
Screen surface is divided into metal materials and non-metallic materials, the actual production, try to choose non-metallic materials.
A study shows that non-metallic materials are 20% more efficient than metal screens, and the life is 25 times longer than metal screens, which greatly reduces the installation time and improves the operation rate of the equipment. At the same time, non-metallic materials are less noisy, and the operating environment is comfortable.
Different materials have different properties, such as high water content of the material will have a certain viscosity, easy to clump, screening will appear when the blocking situation. So it is also important to choose the type of vibrating screen.
Material specific gravity, large particles, high hardness, to choose circular vibrating screen; material specific gravity is light, fine particles, hardness is not high, choose linear vibrating screen.
Do not feed at one end, it will cause the waste of the remaining part of the screen surface, and the feeding end will wear first, so try to use all the space of the screen surface, feed the material along the direction of material running to the screen surface, distribute evenly, do not overload.
Frequent replacement of parts, downtime and production stoppage, production efficiency is naturally low, so regular maintenance and repair is very important.
Regularly check the vibrating screen, remove dirt and oil, broken holes in time to repair, debris hooked out with hooks, so as not to affect the movement of the vibrating screen.
Screen has to have enough tension and fixed force, screen slack on the amplitude and vibration frequency adjustment will cause adverse effects, but also easy to accumulate materials, shorten the life of the screen.
